To Be or Not To Be....In the Office

Thanks to the vaccines and (mostly) nicer weather, lots of Baby Boomers are venturing out of our caves like bears after hibernation.

And many of us are not sure we want to go back to the office.

One of my clients is expecting the call to return later in the summer.

He wistfully described how much he would miss working from home.

“I’ve been able to exercise more, I’ve Iost weight, and my blood pressure is the lowest it’s been in years,” he said.

So I asked a simple question. “What if you just don’t go back?”

He’s already planning to leave in a year or so.

A light bulb went on. “I guess…I don’t really have to, do I?”

A recent Zoom/Survey Monkey poll found that 65% of respondents who have been working from home over the past year said that a hybrid work environment was their ideal work model.

While younger remote workers (18-34) prefer to work mostly from the office, those 65+ prefer to work mostly from home.

And if your company and you don’t agree?

Then it could be time to think about other options.

This summary of my American Bar Association webinar includes some tips on how to start.
